Grant Writers

BioVoyage is a not-for-profit organization providing a range of education services to enhance and accelerate schools (home, charter, private and public) wide achievement. BioVoyage is developing biotechnology curriculum for grades K-12. BioVoyage is seeking experienced grant writers to help secure funding for its various biotechnology curriculum programs. The grant writer must have years of experience in designing and writing grants.

The Opportunity is freelance. The grant writer will be responsible for translating BioVoyage’s vision, mission and purpose into fundable proposals and drawing upon contacts and research for maintaining and expanding its current base of support.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned fundraiser who brings funding sources to BioVoyage and who can show success in grant writing in English for an educational organization.

Essential Functions:

• Research grant programs and plans
• Research and write fundable applications
• Research activities of grant/loan programs that supports curriculum development, school projects, and capital improvement projects for Public Works.
• Writes applications.
• Draft applications, completeness and clarity and submittal of all applications in accordance with grant/loan requirements
• A minimum of 3 years of experience writing grant proposals, with some federal grant proposal writing required.
• Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals.
• Demonstrated initiative and creativity in terms of approaching and accomplishing project planning, implementation, and follow-through.
• The ability to respect and keep confidential information.
